Leonardslee Gardens

Another sunny day - judging by the traffic going past my house early this morning everyone was headed to the coast today. I decided to head inland instead and visited Leonardslee Gardens.

With seven lakes to walk around, it's a pleasant place to spend some time.

Wide Angle Views at Hever Castle

My previous post about My new Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens has been the most popular post on my blog since it was published nearly a year ago. I imagine the viewers were quite disappointed to just find a single image there. This post aims to rectify that. - All these photos were taken with the Sigma Lens and a Nikon D300.

Caravans

200909May_0071

I think there is some prejudice and preconceptions regarding caravans, but I usually have at least one holiday in one each year and the standard is nothing like as basic as it used to be.

Last Stop, Padstow

Final day of the Holiday - started with an excellent breakfast in the Rick Stein Cafe.  Then walked around the harbour, purchased some gifts and a crab sandwich for the journey home.

Tolverne

Tolverne Tolverne The Tolverne restaurant (aka Smugglers Cottage) is situated on the riverbank between Falmouth and Truro. TolverneI had passed it on a couple of occasions as I travelled by boat and had been meaning to stop off for a visit for some time

Stithains, Trelissick & St Mawes

Stithains has been on my visit list for a few years - On the map it's a big blue reservoir in the middle of nowhere just asking to be discovered.

Stithains

I knew there was a risk that it would be pretty unspectactular, and it was - I stayed about 10 minutes before moving on to my standby destination - Trelissick.

Botallack to Sennen

Easily the coldest start to any day I have spent in Cornwall.

Botallack

First a walk along the cliffs from Levant to Sennan on the North Cornish Coast - No sun but still breathtaking views.

Trevarno & Godolphin

The day started off cold and dull as I headed off to the nearby Trevarno Estate for a walk around the grounds and gardens,

Before long the sun managed to break though and I headed to Porthleven for Lunch in the Harbourside Inn.

Fal Weather

Took a boat trip up-river from Falmouth to Truro today.

The deep river is being used to store around 20 large container ships that would normally be used to transport cars, but that are currently surplus to requirements because of the current state of the economy.

Coverack and Ice

Last time I visited Coverack it was a wet and windy day. Today the weather was kinder and I was able to follow the coastal path for a muddy, but enjoyable, walk to Chynhalls Point.

Cornwall Again

Day 1 of my Spring 2009 Holiday and I'm back in the Lizard Peninsular for the 7th time.

As usual, I found somewhere to visit on the way. This time it was Montacute House, which is also home to a the National Portrait Gallery.

Also worth mentioning was breakfast, which was at the Little Chef in Popham.
